I had to crop the bottom of this one as Hilary will tell me off for putting my email and name on the web.Won’t you Hilary?

On another note. What Hilary must think of being seen out with me in public I don’t know.We are so different.

Shall I let you into a little secret.I used to tell my friends,I am going out with Hilary today. They would say who is that?

I explained that it was like Ann Widdecombe and Kerry Katona going out together for the day.Hilary might think she has got the raw deal being compared to the virginal Ann,but at least she’s not a coke addicted commoner.

In fact I rather admire Ann she is an amazing speaker and always sticks up for what she believes in.

D is for…..

I tried making the pictures larger in Blogger but they just go into the margins. You should be able to make them easier to read if you click on each picture.Sorry.

I am open for any criticism or help in anyway…….

A-Z Me the abridged version

My Cathy Zielske book is coming along nicely. The only problem is as you all know I am not the greatest speller and my grammar is crap.So I have tried proof reading my pages so far .But I would love some input from you,my proof readers before I go ahead and get it printed at Blurb.

I’m afraid my book isn’t filled with insightful wonderful writing. But I tried to write it just as me.As its my first fully digital dalliance I have kept mine very simple.People are using different digital papers etc through out their books. But I’m a bit boring and have chosen just one patterned paper and some colour swatches.

Autumn is here

I think I read too many American blogs. There is lots of talk on all the blogs, about their fall decorations. Its not something we do here in the UK.In fact you would have a hard time finding anything in the shops suitable.

But lucky me,had bought some supplies on a previous trip to the States.Pottery Barn always have the most  amazing decorations for all seasons and holidays.I have leaves, acorns, tiny apples, cherries.you name it from this store. So I thought it was time I got some of them out of their storage boxes.I had seen some amazing red leaves at Columbia Road flower market last weekend, but as I was on the train and I couldn’t carry them.

I knew of only one local place I might be able to get the type of supplies I was after. So I had a quick drive to a farm shop which always has an amazing display of pumpkins and squashes .

They were just washing and sorting all the tiny pumpkins.

I grabbed a couple that took my fancy and some tiny chilli plants and this is a display I came up with.

Oh and this.

At this rate I will be speaking in an American accent, drinking egg nog with pumpkin pie…

I kept hubby busy today as well.Well,it is the weekend after all.

There was an area outside our house that drives me mad.Its belongs to both our neighbours and us.It’s never been maintained in the three years we’ve been here.So I asked for next-doors permission and I set Chris to work.

Believe it or not this was taken after he had cleared most of it.Here’s the pile ready to take to the dump.

So much, from such a little space. Our next project is replacing all that fencing in the background and removing 60 feet of 20 year old lavender. But I’ll let him leave that for another day.I know I’m too kind…….

( Really its because I have him working down in the kitchen at this moment, steaming my kitchen tiled floor to make it look as good as new.

Of course I would do it,but I am having trouble with my back at the moment,so I can’t bend down.Honest! )

He popped in some plants we had left over and I shall be adding lots of bulbs and some of my favourite plants over the coming weeks.

I can’t tell you how pleased we are to have finally gotten around to tidying this area.I won't be so embarrassed now when someone pops around.

oh my dear

Tasmin has just hit her teenage rebellion years a tad late.

For her birthday she dyed her hair Purple.Yes purple!!!

And check out what she bought to wear out to the club that night.

What has happened to that quiet and timid girl?

She’s turning into her mother.At last………..

They say you always end up like your mum.

Happy Birthday

I don’t know how it happened, but my daughter had her 20th Birthday today.

How can that be????

20 years ago she was born weighing 8lb 4ozs.I made sure she was born on the day she was due.I kept my legs crossed until just after midnight and then out she popped.

She was always a dream baby.I had never heard a baby coo before. My son Ryan just used to cry, vomit and squirm.I never spent a night walking the floor with her.She always loved her own bed and would drop off in an instant. After having over 3 years of snatched sleep with Ryan she was a revelation.

She restored my faith in my abilities as a mother, and made me realise each child is just different.

I always make a birthday cake,so even though she is away at University I’ve made a virtual one for her.

So here's your cake Tasmin, blow the candle out and make a wish……….

Happy Birthday xxxxx

I forgot

Yep,I forgot to blog the layout I made today.

It was made with some elements from an Anna Bowkis crop kit.I was so busy putting Cathy Zielskes A-Z tag book together, that I never got to follow Annas instructions.

So I finally got around to doing something with the stash today.Sadly,it was in my least favourite colours black and purple. Its weird to think that purple was my favourite colour as a child, but then it was the 70s.

This year I have had to work with a lot of kits in this colour. So someone must like it.

The layout is of a image of my daughter kissing our dog Buzz on Christmas Day.

He sadly died weeks later. So I love this photo. If you said kiss to him he always came over and puckered up.Teddy does the same, but he’s a wee bit more excitable. But at least his breath smells better than Buzz's did…

Mmm maltesers

Last week I went to the cinema to see eat prey/pray  love.Hilary thought it was hysterical, that it was spelt wrong on all the cinema signs.

I must admit I probably wouldn’t have noticed, unless it had been pointed out to me.But then I went to school in Stevenage, like the person who no doubt wrote it.

We all found the film a bit hard going at the beginning and the casting wasn’t up to scratch. How Julia Roberts character guessed  her new friend was from Scandinavia, when she had an American accent I don’t know.

But it was great to get out on a damp afternoon and eat Linda's maltesers.

In between the rain we’ve been having,we attempted to plant some of our freebie plants.Again I say the Royal “we.”I did try and help,by giving all the old plants a haircut. But the bending was giving my back jip.And my poor palm got a blister on it.So I left hubby to the rest.

One lunch time ,last week,I rang Hubby to see if he’d like me to take him for lunch. Its a rare treat for him and he gets quite excited. He always opens his office door with a big grin.Ahhhh.

I only took him for pizza though, because I had a buy one get one for a £1 voucher!!!!!

I even paid.Well with his money,but my bank card.Aren't I kind.

Oh that's just reminded me.I had my engagement ring repaired a few weeks ago.I lost a diamond on holiday in Chicago.Hubby went to pick it up from the jewellers for me.He said your rings on the side.

This is what I found………

Bit late,I did 24 years ago………
